284 Fife and Drum

©2015   37" x 44" (Wall Hanging, shown in photo), 55" x 63" (Throw), 76" x 85" (Queen). Each company of approximately 100 soldiers was assigned two fifers and two drummers, whose jobs were to sound signals telling troops when to rise in the morning and go to bed at night, when to eat, and when to assemble. Other times they were used as alarms to warn of approaching enemies or as marching music. Line up these 3-inch blocks in marching formations!
