268 Fireballs

©2013 22" x 26" As the Civil War dragged on, many families experienced a shortage of coal to heat their homes.  It's been reported that southerners burned mixtures of coal dust, sawdust, sand, and wet clay into hardened lumps to provide heat.  To make the easy-to-piece 4" fireball blocks, combine one background print with a variety of red and black prints as shown, create combinations of your own favorite colors, or make it completely scrappy.
